The Flexenbahn cableway did open in winter 2016/17 and makes skiing at the Arlberg even more varied and comfortable. With the help of the new link between Zürs and Stuben/Rauz, skiers are able to reach all ski locations on the Arlberg easily and comfortably on skis – from St. Anton and St. Christoph via Stuben, Zürs, Lech and Oberlech through to Schröcken and Warth. Lech Zürs is the heart of the Ski Arlberg ski area, which, along with St. Anton, St. Christoph, Stuben, Warth and Schröcken, forms the largest connected ski area in Austria. The winter season 2023/24 will start on 01 December 2023.

The town of St Anton has some of the best apres ski and nightlife in Ski Arlberg whilst retaining plenty of genuine charm. Alternatively, you can travel to the railway station in St. Anton am Arlberg. This is approx. 20 km from Lech and corresponds to a 30-minute drive. As a railjet station, all international express trains stop here, including the Venice-Simplon Orient-Express. You can then travel on to Lech by bus or one of our regional taxi companies. There are powder snow runs in addition to the marked ski routes! St. Anton is especially well-liked by ski enthusiasts due to its many ski routes (for example, the famous Schindelerkar Route). Ski routes also lead to Schröcken and to Zug as well as from the Kriegerhorn, Trittkopf and Rüfikopf to Lech.

If you go to Lech there are 3 options to get there: Ski down to Alpe Rauz and take the free shuttle. It's free, it's fairly quick but it can get very crowded and unpleasant. Take the paying bus from St Anton, it's about €5 for a return ticket, much more civilized and if you get the bus at about 8:30 you'll be on the slopes in Lech before they
